Dance with Me

Not sure if I've mentioned in previous posts about how over the past several months but recently more consistent, Eddie has taken up dancing. Not sure where he learned his moves. He usually gets both of his arms going up and down and sways back and forth. He doesn't last long but it's very cute. His moves have evolved some over time. When Eddie was around 10 months old we took him to a small gathering to hear our favorite "Josh Garrels" sing and Eddie was bopping his head and upper body to the beat of the music. The people around us commented about how he had rythm. In this particular video he is slow dancing with Elmo. I remember my Mom telling me about how she used to slow dance with my brother when he was a baby to the song "Sara Smile". I often slow dance and sing to Eddie when listening to worship music. He sometimes joins into the singing and snuggles right up to me while dancing. It melts my heart and is a time I really enjoy.

Older News

It was all a few weeks ago by now but I thought I'd do a post about John and I celebrating our 6 year wedding anniversary which is the day after Valentine's Day. We usually just combine the two. John surprised me with sending Eddie off to his parent's house for the night. This was our first night away from him!! I was a little nervous at the beginning but I grew more comfortable as the evening went on. We had a great time. We decided to do some activities that most other people wouldn't be doing so we could avoid the crowds. We went to the driving range and hit a couple buckets of balls...something I really enjoy doing when I get the chance. From their I picked our dining spot which was "Mustard's Last Stand" a cute little hotdog stand in town with outdoor seating. We were one of the few patrons and the weather was great so we just sat and enjoyed each other's company. We then proceeded to the beach for a bit and split a big snowcone. The beach was packed at 7pm but it was still beautiful watching the waves and the big pink clouds above. Afterwards we rented a movie and came back home to our childless house. It was great to be able to sleep in until 10am and then go out for breakfast before picking Eddie up. It was a much needed time together and a confidence booster for me. Eddie did awesome at their house and don't even think he knew we were gone. He swam, fed the ducks, went for walks and played & played! Here are a few pictures of our date.

Baby #2

About a week ago we went to the first Dr. appt. where the did an ultrasound so we were able to check the babies heart beat and a few other details. Doc says it's looking good. This isn't a great picture...kinda looks like a little hamster. "It" turned it's back away from the probe so this is the backside view. When we first saw "it" it's little arms and legs were moving all around so that was pretty cool! It's so exciting to see that little life growing inside of you. I'm nearly to week 12 and still sick most of the time. Still praying it subsides in a week or two. Oh and I can't forget to mention the predicted due date....SEPTEMBER 1!!!! That's Eddie's birthdate for those of you who don't know. Eddie was 2 weeks past due but none-the-less, that's when he was born. It will be interesting.

Mr. Muscle Man

I thought these pictures were too cute not to share. He's our lightweight; just one of the many nicknames we have for him. Some of the others are mr. bean, sweet-tater, eddie sghetti, sweet baby boy, special peanut, NUT, spankie, & munchkin man. I guess we're just silly like that and the names change from day to do depending on the mood. Eddie's latest talents include dancing, which I really want to get on video so I can share & kissing. He actually puckers up and makes the smooching sound along with it. It's so sweet and he has a kiss waiting for his dada everyday when he comes home from work.

The Great Escape

Over the past 2 weeks we've all been sick. John had the bug first and then Eddie & me. Eddie & I have yet to recover completely but I'm hoping that day is in the near future. About 6 weeks into this pregnancy I began having the "morning sickness" and it's in full force now. More than the sickness the extreme food aversion is driving me crazy. There is NOTHING that sounds good to eat and not many things I can truly stomach. I worry that I'm not getting the good foods that this growing baby needs so please pray for me that this would subside very soon.
In the mitst of Eddie's sickness 2 night ago I awoke at 3am to hearing Eddie crying through the baby monitor. I have the kind that has a video screen so I can see him and what do I find when I take a peak...Eddie isn't in his crib. I begin to freak out and make John get out of bed with me and go to take a look at the situation (John thinking I'm crazy). We entered his room and he had somehow managed to escape his crib! I was shocked. I knew the day would come just didn't think it would be this soon or especially while he was sick. I think he was pretty scared by the whole ordeal because once I picked him up he was trembling a bit and was dead silent just staring at the wall. So, yesterday John figured a way to put his matress down as low to the ground as we could and it seems to be working so far. Last night we slept through the night once again which was much needed!
My first Dr. appt. is early next week so I'll update you all after that. I've found a Dr. and I pray that we "click".

Big Brother

Two years ago on Christmas morning I decided to take a pregnancy test and discovered that I was pregnant with our first baby, Eddie! This year a few days after Christmas I took another test and it confirmed that I was in fact pregnant with our
2nd baby! I believe I'm currently around 7 weeks along. So, we are expecting to welcome our next little one around the end of August 09! Eddie and this one will be almost exactly 2 years apart. John & I are thrilled about the news but I unlike he, have a few reservations about it all. I wasn't ready to have the morning (or should call it all day) sickness again & I'm not ready to put on all the weight again, not ready to go through the pains of labor again and possibly have another very large baby, but these are only my selfish desires. I know in the end I will be very thankful that we pressed forward and took the plunge and the final result will be a great new addition to our little family.
I did learn a few things from the first time around and some of those things being...I'M NOT ATTEMPTING TO GO ALL NATURAL! The 40 hours of natural child birth classes was a total waste of time for me. If they anticipate this one being even somewhat close to the 10.3 pounder Eddie was I'm signing the dotted line for a
c-section and not beating around the bush and trying to push for 3 hours with no results! (You never would have heard me say that in round 1) I'm in the process of getting a new Dr. because I refuse to see the rude, inconsiderate jerk that I saw the first time around. You can say a few prayers for me that I will pick the right doctor and that my morning sickness will pass soon. The last time around it subsided around the end of the first trimester.

Our Christmas

Christmas was alot of fun this year. I enjoyed having my Mom, Dad & brother come to our house for a visit. Dad & brother stayed for about 5 days and Mom was hear for 10 just departing today. It's sad to see everyone go and the house seems so empty now. I really think Eddie enjoyed having more people around and he keeps going into Grandma Baker's room as if he's wondering where she went. John was able to take off work for the majority of the past 2 weeks which it's always nice to have him home! We spent a few days soaking up some rays at the beach and Eddie had a good time playing in the sand. I would dig him a hole to sit in and fill it up with water and he would splash around. John tried to teach Kyle how to surf but the conditions weren't real favorable for someone trying to learn so he wasn't too successful. Maybe next time.
For Christmas day we all just hung around our house and Mom helped me make my first Christmas dinner with turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, rolls & cornbread stuffing. What alot of work that is! Eddie had a great time opening his gifts and I think he even got tired during it all...it seemed to last quite awhile. He's enjoying his new toys and welcoming new variety. For my gift from John he spent alot of time putting together a book with all of the entries over the past year from my blog. It's really nice and glad that I have a nice hard copy of all the memories. I've yet to start Eddie's first year scrapbook so I'm so glad to at least have something.
