Weekends with Dad
"We never know the love of our parents for us till we have become parents."
We always look forward to weekends because that means that Daddy will be home to spend some extra time with us. This past weekend we did alot of fun things. We went to a Seafood festival Saturday and Sunday we played at the park. My 6 month birthday is this weekend and I'll be spending it with my Great Grandparents as well as my Grandpa Baker who's coming for a visit!

Smell the Flowers
We're feeling rested after a pretty uneventful weekend. Friday night Grandparents watched Eddie while John & I had a date to celebrate our 5 year anniversary! We always miss Eddie but it is nice to have some adult time. The remainder of our weekend was restful.
Eddie took some time to smell the flowers in our yard. As I went to stand up after this picture was taken we took a walk around the yard, I looked down at Eddie & he had picked the flower and was in the process of trying to eat it along with the few ants that were living in it. Man, he's quick. Now I know what people mean when they say you can't turn your head for 1 second.
Happy Valentine's Day
Dear Family & Friends,
Today is my first Valentine's Day & I'm enjoying it very much. However, I feel loved ever
yday, not just today
. I hope you do too. Mommy dressed me in red today
and showered me with lots of hugs & kisses (she always does).
At 5 1/2 months old I did my first craft project today with mommys help. I made a Valentine's day card for my daddy. I put ink on my thumb and stamped the paper making little hearts. Maybe mommy can take a picture of the card & post it later. I asked him to be my Valentine. We met him and my grandparents for lunch today where I proceeded to get more hugs & kisses and lots of attention. I am happy and wanted to wish you all a special day as well. i love you. eddie

Lunch is on Me
Today was the day...I introduced rice cereal to him. I think most of it ended up on his bib & face but I think he managed to get some of it down. I enjoyed watching his face as he experienced this new flavor for the first time. Any suggestions you other mothers out there have for feeding I'm open to hear them.
Experiencing life through a babies eyes is so much fun!
Visit from Great Grandparents
Last week Eddie's great grandparents came for a visit for 2 days. They are in St. Pete beach for the winter months so we hope to grab another visit with them before they head back up north in March. Eddie seemed to love their attention and took to them very quickly. I love watching people love my baby, it's more special than I could have ever imagined.
Fun in the Sun
This wasn't Eddie's first trip to the beach, it' a fairly regular family event for us. Eddie has his own little tent he can nap in to stay out of the sun. What a life! Not to rush his growing up but we do look forward to many more trips to the beach with him, playing in the sand and John looks forward to teaching Eddie to surf...I'm biting my nails already!
A little BEHIND.....
I know, I know, several of you have been on my case about being behind on this blog. It's been ages (since Eddie's first weeks) that I've added to the blog. So, for all of you out there waiting or who may have given up on me, here you go. I promise to try and add items more frequently.
Eddie, amazingly is now 5 months old. We've recorded so many "firsts" since I last updated this. His first bath, his first flight, his first time to sleep through the night, his first Christmas, his first road trip (he's been to 3 states already), and his most recent new trick is rolling over and magically turning himself all around in his crib.
We think he has a heart capturing personality. Everyone who meets him seems to love him instantly. He loves attention and waits on anyone to look his way so he can flash them his flirtacious smile, dimples and all. He loves to hear himself make noise (he can really hit the high notes!) and doesn't seem to be shy. We anticipate him sitting up on his own anyday and maybe even crawling. Weighing in over 16lbs and 26.5" long he is very strong and determined. We plan to start him on foods within the next month. He loves standing up, with support of course and he's in that stage where everything goes right to his mouth. I often catch Eddie with a very studious expression on his face as he studies what others are doing and their facial expressions. He already wants into everything we're doing. As I sit here and type this he is reaching for the keypad and mouse. Maybe he'll have John's knack for learning computers quickly. (I DID HAVE A CUTE PICTURE OF EDDIE & HIS COUSIN'S NAKED BEHINDS ON HERE BUT APPARENTLY THE "BLOG POLICE" DIDN'T APPROVE AND REMOVED IT :( )
