Mommy's little kitchen aid

I walk away from the kitchen for 1 minute and what do I find......He apparently doesn't have an allergy to nuts. He was licking the spoon covered in peanut butter from some cupcakes I had made. He really enjoyed it! This can't be good on the dishwasher door.

First bike ride

This first bike ride was more fun for John & I than for Eddie. He enjoyed the bike but HATED the helmet. I'm trying to keep it on him from time to time so he gets used to it. It comes in handy when he starts to throw little temper tantrums...yeah, I said it, don't know where he learned it but he throws em. At least he won't have any drain bamage. ;) He still doesn't enjoy it but he is tolerating it more & more. It feels so good to ride bikes again. I think it's been nearly 1 1/2 years since I last went riding.

We're getting back in our groove after being home for a little over a week now. Eddie is doing well and really looking like a little toddler to me now instead of a baby. He is pulling himself up to standing all of the time, he can even stand for several seconds without holding onto anything and balances really well. He will walk around on his own as long as he has his little Pooh wagon to hold onto. However, no first steps without assistance yet but I know they will be coming soon enough. He is Mr. Personality now that he's back to feeling well. He loves to wave hello & goodbye. He makes friends everywhere we go. Wouldn't you know that it seems as if I'm going to have an unshy, outgoing little guy. Guess God wants me to step out of my comfort zone. On our flights to Hawaii & Indiana he was lunging out of my arms into anyone who would give him a smile. He was able to get the flight attendants to hold him and several other passangers on the plane as well. At the end of one of our flights the man in front of us turned around (after Eddie had groped his fully bald head) and said, "man he's a good little guy...you could rent him out". WOW, never thought I'd hear that on our flights, but he was in fact a little angel!
\So, aside from the waving, standing, and making friends, he is learning how to climb, open drawers, and imitates others often. If there is a song on his likes he even dances!! SO CUTE. I can tell his little brain is a sponge just soaking up everything around him. His Dad introduced him to Sesame Street this morning on tv and he really seemed to LOVE it. He is such a joy to watch as he grows, learns & changes daily. We humans really are amazing creatures. GOD IS GREAT!

Turning 30 With The Ones I Love

It's been a fun filled summer for us. Hawaii for 3 weeks in June, home for 4 days & barely enough time to do the laundry and then, back in the air we headed to Indiana. John planned the trip for my 30th birthday. Spent some time in southern Indiana and then visited my Mom's house in Central Indiana. While I was home we were able to visit my grandparents, brother, parents & Amber (best friend from high school). It was a nice trip however, Eddie got sick and ran his first high fever and then I came down with a cold. The time always goes too fast and I leave wishing we all lived closer. We'll end our summer with a trip to New York for 10 days on Lake Ontario visiting John's parent's summer house which should be a nice time as well.

Home Again

We survived the long flights, the 6 hour time change, several sleepless nights & a great vacation! Yes, I said great! If you would have asked me this early on in our trip I may have said otherwise, however, it turned out to be really awesome. If you haven't been to Hawaii I hope you get to go someday. Even John, having traveled to nearly every continent, said it was up there with the most beautiful. We spent our first week in Kauai. The island is fairly small so we were able to see everything we wanted to (besides the helicopter ride you can't take babies on). There John worked with a longtime friend to shape his first surfboard. It turned out really good and yes, it's rideable. We then flew into Oahu to stay with John's brother & family of 4 kids! It was great to see family and the island was great as well. John and I were even able to scoot out a few times on our own while Jamie (our sister-in-law) watched Eddie. One of my favorite things was the ocean kayaking we did. It was nice to see the island from a different vantage point.

Eddie did great on the flight, sleeping nearly the entire time and when he wasn't he was making loads of friends. Many people commented on how good he did. PRAISE THE LORD!
